How the weekend plays out
The chronological strip up top is the broadcast rundown — when each phase airs across Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Below, the per-phase plan. Locked decisions are pinned; everything else is named so it can't be forgotten.

Day open
LockedFixed sequence: 5-minute countdown video → RNS Videomedia sting → ClipMyHorse.tv sting → Bromont opener → B-roll over-package (commentators cover event → phase → division → first rider) → first-rider video package → first ride.
Persistent on-air
LockedTwo anchored elements: an event/division bug and a rider identifier (rider, horse, country, pinney) in lower-third and corner-panel form. Small, unobtrusive.
No score, no progress, no comparisons, no sponsor
LockedThe test is the show. Dressage rides stay clean — no running totals, no movement counter, no scoreboard, no sponsor placement during the ride.
Commentator-topic lower-thirds
LockedTen variants. Five rider cards (career headline · recent form · nation & program · partnership · story). Five horse cards (pedigree · vitals · career record · connections · quirks).
Between-ride content
LockedRider intro video packages in 30s and 60s versions. Plus earlier-rides scoreboard, upcoming-rides list, division leaderboard, and 15-second cross-country fence spots used as next-day hype filler.
Division close
DeferredEach division concludes with an awards ceremony. Graphic set bundled with show-close design.
Block open
LockedKeeps the dressage opener structure. Short SJ B-roll: dressage recap → live feed of the SJ arena. Long SJ B-roll: cross-country recap → live feed of the SJ arena. First-rider package compressed to 10–15 seconds, starting when the rider enters the ring.
Persistent on-air
LockedLive clock plus rider name, horse name, pinney, country, division, and show name — always present in some form. No other graphics on top of the round. Chassis variants mock up in the design pass.
Ride cycle — five scenes
Locked1. During the ride. 2. Move-transition into a 7–10s highlight replay with a closeup PiP of the rider in cooldown — score is not flashed at the line. 3. Back to the rider for the score reveal. 4. Full-screen leaderboard (current standings only); camera operator repositions. 5. Handoff to the next rider — overlay or cut.
Short vs Long — what differs
LockedLong-only pre-round: cumulative D + XC penalties shown going in; transitions out when the clock starts. Long-only handoff: scene 5 swaps the "up next" overlay for a 10-second dressage + cross-country highlight of the upcoming rider. Short keeps the standard overlay/cut handoff.
Day-1 dressage → SJ gap
Locked30 minutes to 2 hours, variable. We sign off; the stream stays live and displays a branded slate with the return time.
Short block close — 3 beats
LockedHighlight of the day → current standings going into Saturday → final preview of cross-country.
Long block close — event close & awards
DeferredSunday close. Bundled with awards-ceremony design.
